My sculpture “Concentrixity” was included in Knock on Wood exhibition at The Center on Contemporary Art (COCA) gallery 114 Third Ave. S. Seattle WA.
Curatorial advisor and artist Joel Colvos recognizes how wood is “a material of paradox: both common and precious, temporary yet long-lasting and remarkably pliable,” in essence a metaphor for the creative process. Perhaps surprisingly (or not!), Knock on Wood includes many women artists in contrast to the stereotypes of lumberjacks or craftsmen.
Participating artists include: Renee Adams, Michael Alm, Susan Aurand, Diane Bellisario, Evan Blackwell, James Cheng, Collette Collins, Joel Colvos, Shaun Doll, Jill Drllevich, Tammie Dupuis, Tim Fowler, Dave Francis, David French, Tom Gormally, Julia Haack, Steve Jensen, Sarah Kavage, Jill Kyong, Jay Lazerwitz, Mike Leavitt, Andy McConnell, Naoko Morisawa, Jesse Proebstel, Polly Purvis, Peter Reiquam, June Sekiguchi, Matt Sellars, Nate Stemen, Bill Whipple, Robert Williamson, Ed Wicklander, Jennifer Angiak Wood, and Suze Woolf.*
