I have wanted to re-work this sculpture for some time; to make more through-space, bringing light into the center, connecting concave passages, increasing the dynamic interplay of the solids and voids, to engage the viewer to move around to take in the entirety of the cut-lines, color, shape, and visual bearing.

My sculpture “Concentrixity” was included in Knock on Wood exhibition at The Center on Contemporary Art (COCA) gallery 114 Third Ave. S. Seattle WA.
Curatorial advisor and artist Joel Colvos recognizes how wood is “a material of paradox: both common and precious, temporary yet long-lasting and remarkably pliable,” in essence a metaphor for the creative process. Perhaps surprisingly (or not!), Knock on Wood includes many women artists in contrast to the stereotypes of lumberjacks or craftsmen.
